We travelled to the beautiful beaches of Krabi in the south and then on to Chiang Mai in the North with a 2 day stay in the jungle mixing with and learning about the history, health and welfare of elephants rescued from the logging and trekking trades. to quote from their website: Elephant Nature Park is a unique project set in Chiang Mai province, Northern Thailand. Established in the 1990's their aim has always been to provide a sanctuary and rescue centre for elephants. The park is located some 60km from the city, and has provided a sanctuary for dozens if distressed elephants from all over Thailand.
